The location

Our private vacation home is located just a mile and a half south of downtown Breckenridge on the border of the town of Blue River. We are within a five minute drive of the ski slopes. We love our location in that we are closer than most homes 'in-town' and definitely closer to the action than homes off of Peak 7 or Peak 8, which also require you to drive to the slopes. We can zip into town in just a few minutes and either park at the Gondola lot or drop off skiers at Peak 9 & 10. Easy access! If you'd rather take a shuttle into town, a shuttle stop is available on Rt. 9 just a few blocks away!

We are located 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Vail/Eagle Airport and 2 hours from the Denver International Airport. We recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle when visiting Breckenridge in the winter. If you do not wish to rent a car, you can book a an Epic Mountain Express shuttle from the Denver Airport to Breckenridge. There is also a private limo service from Denver International to Breckenridge.

winter

Breckenridge is filled with all of the best activities the Colorado Rockies have to offer. For starters, you just can't beat the winters here. Breckenridge Resort is home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world, which is why we are one of the most visited ski resorts in the Western Hemisphere. If you are new to the Breck experience, one of the things that makes our mountain so special are the 5 unique ski peaks each with their own unique personality and charm which are catered to all different skill levels from beginner to some of the most extreme terrain Colorado has to offer.

With 187 trails, 34 lifts and 2,908 skiable acres, there is truly something for skiers and snowboarders of every level. In addition, the mountain has four award-winning terrain parks and a 18' halfpipe. Also, 40% of the mountain is home to our legendary high alpine terrain. At the summit of Peak 8, enjoy awestruck views, as on a clear day you can see for over a hundred miles to see the Maroon Bells, Pike's Peak and 14ers in the Front Range.

For more information, check out Breckenridge.com for ski ticket info. For longer stays, consider the Epic Ski Pass which allows you to not only ski Breckenridge, but other Colorado Resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Crested Butte.

If you are not into alpine skiing, not to worry. There is also ice skating in town at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena; free sledding at Carter Park in downtown Breckenridge; tubing at the Frisco Adventure Park, Nordic Skiing and snowshoeing at the Breckenridge Nordic Center, and of course, plenty of apres-ski opportunities at the town's variety of bars and restaurants.

summer

A common phrase you will hear from Breckenridge locals is "I came for the winter. I stayed for the summer." Breckenridge really is an all-year-round playground. In the summer, check out miles and miles of gorgeous scenic hiking trails. If you truly want to experience Breckenridge’s breathtaking beauty, hit the trails! There are hundreds of hiking trails in and around Breckenridge which makes it easy to take part of one of the most popular summer activities. From gentle dirt roads to challenging summits, there are a wide variety of options for all types of hikers. Breckenridge hiking is an experience for every visitor to enjoy.

The mountain in the summer turns into a mountain biking / hiking wonderland with scores of trails that will leave you breathless. But you don’t have to ride singletrack to enjoy the Breckenridge biking scene, but there’s 100s of miles of it if you do. From technical trails to family-friendly paths, you’ll love taking in the views on two wheels.

If the thrill of speeding down dirt mountain trails seems a bit too much adrenaline, try the 19 mile out and back Breckenridge to Frisco Bike Path. The trail is a very gentle grade downhill to Frisco (and uphill on the return!). The trail can be very busy with other bikers, inline skaters, and hikers so use caution. Many folks think it is a flat ride to Frisco and get fooled by the gradual but steady climb back to Breckenridge, often after a big lunch in downtown Frisco!

If it's water sports you are after, there's plenty in and around Breck. Lake Dillon is a great place to start and only 20 miles from the house. The world's highest deepwater Marina has 25 miles of shoreline nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Here you can rent boats, take a fishing charter or rent SUPs and kayaks. You can also go zip-lining or whitewater rafting with Breckenridge Whitewater RaftingYou can also try your hand at fly-fishing for rainbow trout in the Blue River..

During the summer, Breck is also home to Epic DiscoveryTake the free BreckConnect Gondola up Peak 8 for a variety of activities including Ropes Courses, the Alpine Slides and the Gold Runner Coaster.

What a wonderful mountain vacation! Our four generation family loved our stay. There was plenty of room for us all to gather together, but also some quiet places to enjoy the scenery. We all loved the deck and enjoyed having s’mores every night. The pool table, hot tub, and corn hole game were a big hit with the kids and adults. Jodi was very easy to communicate with. We all had a great time and would love to come back!
